The following is a list of recommended "barrios" you can choose from when you stay in Buenos Aires. The list has been compiled by two of our native "Porteñas" (the local term used for people born in Buenos Aires) who are on the EBC teaching staff. The list is in alphabetical order.

You will probably hear people speak of "Barrio Norte". In reality it isn't a barrio. It is is an area of Buenos Aires which includes parts of the following barrios: Palermo and Recoleta.

  • Villa Real
  • Villa Riachuelo
  • Villa Soldati

It may well be that you find small areas in these barrios that are OK, but we seriously recommend that you check them out personally prior to deciding to go and live there.
