The EBC job programme
Our job placement programme has been operating successfully since 2003. So far, everyone that has taken our course and wanted to get teaching work has done so regardless of what passport they hold. That's over 1,000 graduates.
The jobs we help you to get are at full market pay rates.
If you want to work in Buenos Aires you should know that we supply teachers to over 200 language schools in Buenos Aires.
In addition to a real job placement programme, as an EBC graduate, you will also get access to our web based list of over 1,000 language schools around the world so that you can instantly apply for jobs anywhere.
With EBC's help, you will quickly get a job with reputable educational institutions.
Job preparation workshops
The EBC job programme include job workshops designed to prepare you for entry into the teaching job market. The workshops cover the following key areas:
The job market;
What to expect when you are teaching;
Working conditions;
What to ask at the interview;
What to say at the interview;
What NOT to say or ask at the interview;
How to schedule interviews;
Pay and conditions;
Other important information you'll need to pass an interview.
The workshops will tell you how to pass a teaching job interview and prepare you for what to expect when you start your first paid teaching job.
We will also check your CV/resume before it gets sent out and if necessary make recommendations for changes.
It is normal for an EBC graduate to interview and get job offers within a week of finishing the course, sometimes even sooner!
How the programme works
The EBC lifetime, world-wide job placement assistance programme is exclusively for you, our EBC graduates.
EBC sends your job application including your CV and a cover letter from EBC stating that you are an EBC TEFL Certificate graduate. The cover letter has been requested by the EFL schools so that they know that you are a legitimate EBC course graduate. It also helps them sort out the "off the street" applications from serious job placement applications.
EBC manages the application process on your behalf so you don't have to waste shoe leather pounding the streets knocking on doors. EBC goes that extra mile to open the doors to jobs for you.
After EBC helps you get started with your first job, you will be able to use the EBC job programme for the rest of your teaching career. You will also be given unlimited, free access to our exclusive web based service so you can apply for TEFL jobs regardless of where you are in the world.
Types of jobs
Argentina is one of South America's top travel destinations. Buenos Aires has the most and best paying jobs in all of Argentina. Average EFL teacher pay rates are between 20 to 25 Pesos per hour for academies and over 25 Pesos per hour for private clients. Your earnings compared to other workers in Buenos Aires are at the higher end. So far, all students that have studied with EBC and then wanted to stay on and work have done so. A realistic maximum number of hours to teach in a week is about 30.
It is not easy to organize a job in Buenos Aires before going there, even if you are already a qualified EFL teacher. Language schools have become stricter, and most now demand an accredited TEFL qualification and/or some teaching experience. This is one good reason to choose EBC.
The type of person or subject area you will teach depends on your personal preference. We deal with over 200 language schools in Buenos Aires and between them the offer a full range of opportunities ranging from teaching classes of children in state schools through to one-to-one classes given to corporate executives. You can also teach private classes, but you will have to arrange these on your own.
